My name is Helen Begg.
I am an experienced counsellor and qualified psychotherapist. I have worked in a variety of settings, including hospital, primary care, a university student counselling service and private practice.
I offer a supportive presence, helping people to feel at ease, and provide a safe holding relationship to enable therapeutic work to take place.
I meet regularly with an analytic supervisor to further inform my practice.
"Psychotherapy" means healing of the soul (or our inner emotional life). This can take place in a trusting relationship, where it is safe for difficult or disturbing issues to be looked at together.
This process can take time: there is no "quick fix". It can also be costly in terms of commitment and finance. As with any healing process it can also feel painful at times.
Within a confidential setting, there is opportunity to find support, explore old attachments or patterns in relationships, feel listened to and understood. This can lead to a deeper acceptance of self and the discovery of new possibilities.
